HEAD COACH – ROCHESTER 2025

FCA Vice President Sean McNamara has been on staff with the ministry since 1999. After playing lacrosse in high school and college and coaching at both levels, he accepted the position as the national director of FCA’s lacrosse ministry in Sparks, Md. McNamara served in that role until 2007 when he took over as the FCA Vice President of Sport-Specific Ministry at the FCA National Support Center in Kansas City, Mo. He remained there until 2010 when he accepted his current position as the FCA vice president of field ministry for the northeast region and relocated with his family to New York.

After competing at Monroe Community College, McNamara continued his playing career at Randolph-Macon College. He graduated RMC in 1998 and joined the coaching staff the next year—the same year he joined FCA. McNamara would go on to hold coaching positions at Messiah College, Calverton High School (Md.) and Calvert Hall (Md.) before moving to Kansas City in 2007. Upon returning to the Northeast in 2010, he has enjoyed coaching the Spencerport Rangers youth lacrosse team.

McNamara first came to Christ in 1992 at an FCA Camp at Gettysburg College. His goal when joining the ministry in 1999 was to share his faith with coaches and players, and it remains largely the same today. As an FCA VP and coach, he also hopes to develop future coaches who can change the culture of lacrosse and impact future generations for Christ.

McNamara and his wife, Anna, live in Spencerport, N.Y., with their four children: Grace, Luke, Caleb and Ella. He enjoys being a husband and father and investing in his family, as well as reading and running marathons.
