MARK MACMILLAN

COACH MARK

Mark MacMillan said his brother’s involvement with FCA and the ministry’s combination of lacrosse, faith and value inspired him to join their coaching ranks: “I have enjoyed learning about the great experiences my brother has had coaching with the program. I like FCA’s focus on teaching core values, incorporating faith and their emphasis that athletics is about more than winning.”

Mark played high school lacrosse while at Rush Henrietta from ’86-’89 where he was captain and All-County 1st team. He also played four years at Canisius College where he was a two-time captain for the Golden Griffins.

A Henrietta, NY native, Mark taught social studies at Wayne High School from 1997-2008. Since 2009, he has been Rush-Henrietta School District’s Director of Social Studies, Foreign Languages and Business. He loves spending time with his wife Juliet and his sons Jack and Patrick. He enjoys traveling, camping, watching his boys grow up and experience new things, and watching and playing the great game of lacrosse with them. He and his family attend St. Louis Church in Pittsford.

A Michael Jordan fan, Mark’s favorite Jordan quote is: “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
