LARRY DIGIOVANNI

COACH LARRY

When Larry DiGiovanni begins his tenure as Head Coach for FCA’s Girls Lacrosse Camp this summer, he will be bringing with him thirty years of lacrosse experience.

“I chose to coach with FCA because it has Jesus Christ at the center — the vast majority of athletic programs separate Jesus from their programs. With FCA there is a heavy focus on ensuring that each and every student athlete is part of a positive and healthy environment where winning is not everything. FCA also has a strong support staff and the resources to best execute on the model it has created,” Larry said.

Larry played lacrosse throughout his high school years at Irondequoit High School where he was named first team all county defenseman in 1987 & 88, the same years the team also took home the Section V championship. Larry captained the 1988 team and was also a member of Western NY Empire State team in 1987 where they won silver.

During his years at Hobart College from 1988-1992, Larry was 3-time All-American defenseman in 1990, 91, 92, and the team was NCAA National Champions in 1989, 90, 91. In 1992, he captained the team, was named Most Valuable Defenseman, and was selected for the North South All-Star Games.

After graduating from Hobart, Larry was a player coach during Hobart’s summer lacrosse camps from 1989-1992. From 1993-94 he was Denison University’s Assistant Coach. More recently, he has coached youth lacrosse locally serving as the Pittsford Youth Boys Lacrosse Head Coach (2008-2009) and as the Head Girl Coach (2010-2012). Since 2012, he has been Head Coach for the Common Goal Youth Girls Travel Lacrosse.

Larry has been in the telecommunications business for over twenty years where he is recognized as an industry leader in both sales and operations. He is currently Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Bluetone Communications in Victor, NY.

He resides in Pittsford, NY, with his loving wife Christine, whom he describes as “a fantastic mother, and all around great, very supportive person,” his son Jack (14) – the family’s big-hearted ‘old soul’ who is coxswain on his crew team and loves math; and his daughter Ashlyn (12) who loves lacrosse, Jesus and Nantucket Island, the family’s favorite vacation spot. Cooking at home with his family, exercising and volunteering to help people that are less fortunate are among Larry’s most favorite activities.
