She began her lacrosse journey playing defense for Canandaigua, where she spent two years honing her skills on the field. As part of the Canandaigua team in 2019, Ashanti was an integral part of the sectional winning squad, showcasing her talent and determination.

In 2021, Ashanti joined the St. John Fisher lacrosse team, where she made an immediate impact. She played in a total of 9 games during her first season, demonstrating her skill and dedication to the sport. Building on her success, Ashanti started in 10 out of 18 games during her second season, showing her continued growth and commitment to the game. Her dedication and hard work were evident as she played in all of the team's games that season.
